Youth Advisory Board

Our 2021/2022 Inaugural Board

Young people have a powerful voice and influence when it comes to media and media use. They know how to use technology creatively for learning, connecting with friends, and engaging activities, as well as how stressful, harmful, and scary the online world can be. We’ve created a Youth Advisory Board to give students a platform where they can share their unique experiences with media and have a real voice in the way that we educate others on media literacy, while also helping their peers and communities navigate the media landscape of today’s world.

The members of the inaugural Youth Advisory Board are student leaders from across the country who are passionate about sharing their experiences and making a difference. From podcasters to actors, artists to coders, we have a wide range of media users, interests, and backgrounds represented in our group. As members of the board, these students will create posts, videos, and other media works about topics they care about and issues important to their peers. They will also have opportunities to deepen their knowledge and grow in their roles as advocates through work sessions and discussions with field experts. We look forward to collaborating with these thoughtful student leaders and learning from their perspectives.
