• Inspiring young people to engage with media in
thoughtful & creative ways that support well-being.

October is Bullying Prevention Month. Let’s Have the Bigger Conversation.

Orange You Curious invites young people, and the adults who support them, to think about how media shapes the way we communicate, connect, and treat one another, both online and off.

HOW DOES MEDIA LITERACY HELP PREVENT BULLYING?

When young people learn to question and evaluate the media around them, they are better able to:

QUESTION

Analyze what they see online and recognize harmful messages.

UNDERSTAND

Develop empathy and see different perspectives.

SPEAK UP

Feel confident reporting and responding to unkind behavior.

CREATE CHANGE

Use their voices to build safer more supportive communities, both online and in-person.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Bullying prevention takes all of us. Small actions can help create environments where young people feel supported, valued, and confident speaking up when something isn’t right.

WEAR ORANGE

Show your support for bullying prevention and help raise awareness in your community.

START A CONVERSATION

Ask young people about their experiences online and in person. Listen, stay curious, and make sure they know where to turn for help.

TAKE ACTION

Share the message, bring prevention resources into your school or community, and create opportunities for youth voice.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

Donate to MPY to help more young people access programs and opportunities that build safer, more supportive communities.

SEE YOUTH VOICE IN ACTION

In Franklin, New Hampshire, students used media and storytelling to explore their community and help others see their city through their eyes. The filmmaking class project gave young people an opportunity to build connections and contribute to how their community tells its story.
