Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices is an evidence-based, engaging curriculum that helps students recognize the impact media can have on the choices they make about violence, bullying, alcohol and tobacco use, and nutrition — all decisions that could affect their success in school and life.
You’ll build your own media literacy knowledge too. Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices includes comprehensive professional learning that provides a solid foundation in what media literacy is and how to teach it to your students. You’ll examine your own perceptions of media, learn the connection between media, thought and behavior, and have the opportunity to share ideas with educators across the country. Upon course completion, you’ll be eligible for continuing education credits.
The media’s influence over health and behavior is important to talk about with young people, whether it’s in an instructional setting like our workshops or brought up in casual conversation. Look to some of these trusted resources for information to guide discussions.
