Summer Filmmaking Camps 2025
The 2025 summer filmmaking camps went fantastically! Our 10-14 year-old filmmakers investigated nature and wildlife, explored their emotions and how to communicate them, and filmed some cool and extravagant scenarios. We worked with technology to share inspiring stories!
In partnership with NH Audubon and the SEE Science Center, the Conservation Quest and Reel Explorers camps gave young filmmakers the chance to work across genres and styles to share their stories. They produced experimental films, documentaries, comedies, dramedies, and more. Through this, they found their voices, and used them to inspire us to change how we view nature and promote healthier relationships with emotions. Our partners welcomed us with open arms and gave the campers knowledge and a space to grow as storytellers.
In the process of creating these fantastic films, our campers developed a number of skills. In groups, they learned teamwork techniques and built communication skills to collaborate on one shared project. We watched and discussed ways to persuade our audiences, and how to use visuals and audio to inform viewers in bold or subtle ways. Additionally, campers got to work with a variety of groups throughout the weeks, learning how to be flexible while making some great new friends!
Of course, the campers became true filmmakers. Whether it was lights, cameras, microphones, or even green screens, they built filmmaking experience while developing their media literacy skills. We explored sound design and foley art, learning how awesome sounds can come from tools as simple as balloons and coconuts! By the end of the week, they’d crafted stories worthy of the big screen, and had a blast doing it!
And so, here are this year’s films! We had a great time making them and hope to see everyone again next year!
