ABOUT

Steve Jones

Architecture/Design-Build Instructor

In Kara’s words:

“Mr. Jones has inspired every single one of his students to challenge themselves in and outside of the classroom. His expectation of high-quality work brings students to a higher level of academic achievement, preparing them for college and beyond. After knowing Mr. Jones for three years, I have always appreciated his commitment to his students, his kindness encouraging them to try their hardest. Mr. Jones’s architecture classes have inspired me to become an architect, and his passion for this field makes me even more excited for my future.

Mr. Jones is always there for his students; whether for an architectural critique or someone to talk to, he is always there to truly listen. Additionally, he brings his students together, creating a community of people who want to work hard and succeed. Whether during lunch, study hall or class time, Mr. Jones is there to help his students grow into well-rounded, achieving people.”

We’d like to express our gratitude to all of the student filmmakers who participated in the 2025 media challenge, Studio Lab, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and our awards committee volunteers: Jenna Bailey, Julio DelSesto, Pat Dunn, Heather Inyart, Ian Messina, Tyler Pare, Shreya Rajesh, Sydney Robinson, and Elyse Ruback.

What are the Spotlight Community Impact Awards?

Media Power Youth invites New Hampshire public high school students (grades 9-12) to submit a short film or photo story showcasing an adult mentor who is making a difference at school or in the wider community.

By sharing your perspective, you’ll not only celebrate an inspiring mentor but also give audiences an inside look at the important role your public school plays in fostering growth, leadership, and a sense of belonging.

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of educators, industry professionals, and youth representatives and a grand prize of $1,000 each will be awarded to one media creator and their mentor!

Entries have closed for the 2025 Spotlight Community Impact Awards – subscribe to our newsletter to get notified when we open submissions for 2026!
